Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Yoga Alliance approved" mean?

We are a Registered Children's Yoga School (RCYS), under Yoga Alliance, and our teacher training courses are yoga alliance approved. This means that, upon completion of the course, you will be eligible for continuing ed hours under yoga alliance. This also means that, upon completion of our 95hour Trauma Informed Kids Yoga Teacher Training, you will be eligible to apply for your RCYT designation with yoga alliance (you must have an additional 200hour general yoga certification in order to obtain the RCYT designation under yoga alliance).

Will I be a "certified kids yoga instructor" when I finish this course?

You will receive a certificate of completion once you have finished the course, and be fully confident and ready to teach yoga to children and adolescents! If interested, you can use this certificate to apply for RCYT status through Yoga Alliance.

What's the difference between this "NO ZOOMS" 95hr course and the 95hr with Live Zooms?

Our 95hr "NO ZOOMS" training is a more affordable alternative to our 95hr course with Live Zooms. The "NO ZOOMS" course will not include the option for weekly Live Zoom calls, but you will instead receive Zoom recordings and assignments in their place. Both courses include the same comprehensive and amazing content and certification!

Is there interactive feedback in this course?

Yes! While this is an online course, interacting with trainees as much as possible is at its foundation. Suzanne is a real person, and she personally reads through/views every assignment you are given in order to provide helpful, thoughtful feedback. Our trainings are designed to support you every step of the way through emails and videos, in order to help you feel knowledgeable, confident, and ready to change lives by the end!

I don't know if an online class is for me - I enjoy interacting with the instructor and talking in real time.

Understood! We know that everyone is different, and prefers different methods of training. If more interaction is for you, then our 95hr Trauma Informed Kids Yoga Teacher Training with Live Zooms might be a better fit for you! Check it out from our "Products" page!

What does "self-paced" mean?

Our virtual courses are all self-paced, meaning you can complete the material on your own time, with no obligation to be on camera or in-person at any certain times! You will have a generous 20 weeks to complete all coursework, including Practicum.

What does "trauma informed" mean?

A trauma informed perspective in kids yoga operates on the assumption that we never know what a child is walking into our classroom with. As TI instructors, we teach in a safe, understanding, and informed way to ALL students, regardless. So in teaching yoga, that can mean offering lots of options, using empowerment based language, coming from a place of modification and understanding, teaching with more awareness to verbal and nonverbal cues, and much more. We view it as adding a - significant - layer of awareness to our work with children.

Do I need to have prior experience with yoga or with children in order to attend this course?

No! Everyone is welcome. We are all on our own separate journeys, with our own unique goals and intentions. This training is great for anyone, anywhere, anytime, who is passionate about working with and empowering children!
